To round off our final careers activities in celebration of National Careers Week (throughout the month of March), we were very excited to welcome Guy Robinson and Zak Somra from Lower Thames Crossing Project on Wednesday 29th March who came to meet with years 7, 8, 9 and 10 to talk about the project, careers within the engineering/construction industry, how the project was planned and what equipment is used and what apprenticeships they had to offer and more information about their apprenticeship programme.
The learners were really well engaged and we had some great feedback from Guy who said 'Students were motivated, well behaved and engaged well with myself and Zak. They had many good questions and challenged us on areas, like how we are going to make sure we look after the wildlife. They were interested to know the careers available and some linked this to their interests.'
As a school we are so fortunate to have Guy and Zak with us who travelled from their usual places of work especially to come and see us and deliver their sessions. Thank you so much for coming to spend some time with us.
