Rivermead Welcome Volunteers to Play 'What's My Job?' Careers Activity

On Tuesday 14th March, Rivermead School welcomed four incredible volunteers who gave up their own time from their busy work and schedules to come and play a game with us, all in aid of National Careers Week 2023.

We welcomed Tina Bosworth from Elands Veterinary Clinic, Terence Collingwood from I Dig Dino's, Bijilly Yadav from Adina Cosmetic Ingredients and Jim Scott from Alltask Ltd. All volunteers came to spend time with Pathways, Year 7 and Year 8's who all worked together in small groups to ask each individual volunteer a simple yes or no question. The groups then had to work out from the clues what the volunteers job could be. The Volunteers then revealed what their job was and what it involved which lead to some fun conversations about their sectors. Terence from I Dig Dino's also brought in some fossilised dinosaur poo and a dinosaur tooth to show.

This was the second year we've held this event with our younger groups and Pathways, and so far, the feedback from the learners and the volunteers has been overwhelmingly positive and everyone had such a great time. This is such a fun way for our learners to interact with people who wouldn't usually get the chance to come and visit us that made the event very special indeed.

Without our volunteers supporting us events like this just simply wouldn't be able to run so we are always so grateful to anyone who gives up their time to spend it with us. Thank you volunteers.
